What is a loss consultant?

A loss consultant or assessor is an expert you can call in when you want your interests as an insured taken care of in the event of loss or damage. If you suffer a loss due to an incident like fire, flooding or burglary, the amount you can claim will often be adjusted by a loss adjuster from your insurance company. This person is experienced in the loss adjusting process and knows the policy wording better than you do. This puts you, the insured, at a disadvantage from the start.

You do not really know what you are entitled to and so you can hardly check or challenge the adjuster's opinion. We can. As your loss consultant we will proactively support you and will exclusively look after your interests.

What are your rights?

If you have suffered loss or damage, you are always entitled to call in a loss consultant. This will not be taken as a distrust of your agent, broker or insurance company. It is simply a consumer's right. A right you should always use, for it is your interests, your money and your future that are at stake. You are the one who year after year paid premiums to be compensated for your losses, so if you do suffer a loss you should claim what you are entitled to.
